A short mass, this work does not feature the long texts Gloria and Credo. After the gravity of the Kyrie, the Sanctus takes on a mystical character, particularly with the addition of a celesta (or glockenspiel). The more serene Agnus gradually leads to the liberated expression of the final antiphon.
