With Auge der Zeit, I chose two poems that were not originally consecutive, in order to form a triptych with Psalm, set to music two years earlier, entitled Über dem Dorn. Here I have developed an atonal choral writing style, made up of clashing counterpoints and extreme harmonic tensions.
