O tu (qui es supra omnia)

— May 2024

Opus : 4 / Type d'œuvre : Pour voix seule(s)

This text, attributed to Gregory of Nazianzus, expresses what all religions say through the voice of their sages: no words can describe the divine, which in essence is beyond us. The music accompanies the unfolding of the text in its successive interrogations, passing for a time through the anguish of unknowing, and concluding in the acceptance of our human condition, pilgrims in the night of trials and doubt, but on a path of Faith.

The work has never been sung in public. The only surviving recording is the one below, which dates from 2008 and was made with the soloists of Mikrokosmos conducted by Loïc Pierre.
