In our Western society, where it is becoming difficult to agree on common values, the author draws up a list of concrete things, both simple and timeless, that take us straight to the heart of the matter: the value of day-to-day relationships with others, in the simple gestures of everyday life, far removed from ideologies and grand causes.

This work is part of the final section of the secular oratorio Mémorial (Opus 79), commemorating the end of the Great War.
