Psalm : The choral music of Thierry Machuel
Psalm is an outstanding disc in every respect. Thierry Machuel’s music paints pictures in sound. Unmistakeably french, his atmospheric language goes from the austere to the lush. His creative layering of the voices – solos, trios, octets, full choir where male sounds merge into females ones – fully enhances the eclectic choice of texts in a magical way. The singing is inspirational and very accomplished directed by Laurence Equilbey and Geoffroy Jourdain. Machuel is an individual voice. I found this example of his music fantastic.
